Well what a blustery and wild night that was, wind, rain and hail stones! It’s no secret that the wind is no friend to umbrellas and many faithful and loved umbrellas have fallen it to its might, no matter what the manufactures say no umbrella is 100% windproof. If like me you are looking for a new umbrella this morning, a good tip is to look for umbrellas with fibreglass ribs. The fibreglass ribs flex in the wind and stop the common unsightly scene of bent looking umbrella canopies where the ‘U’ shaped metal ribs have kinked. Of course, it does NOT mean that the fibreglass umbrellas are windproof just a little more wind resistant!
