The weather is certainly on the change. As I write this, I can hear the rain pelting off the pavement outside and it is very dark and gloomy outside. Autumn is certainly here to stay! Yesterday was just as awful here, with high winds and driving rains. Still, judging by the news reports, it has been even worse in the north of England.
York, for example has had its most intense storm for 30 years. And according to the Met Office, some areas of the UK are due to experience a fortnight’s rainfall – 50mm (2 inch) of rain – over the course of the day.
